Our fence. Our yard. The dogs paradise.

These pics may be a tad small. I took them with my panorama sweep on my camera...which I love. I just wanted to share how excited we are to have a fenced in backyard now! And a huge one at that!
^Above^
Standing middle of the yard, looking to the right.
^Above^
Kinda the same pic, just with the house in it...
^Above^
To the left. It goes around the corner a tad more. We have a huge side yard. I am so excited for them to finish it, as there are a few pieces they are finishing now...so the dogs can go free! They LOVE to be outside but I can't sit out front with them and watch them all day. Even though they'd love that. Plus Kodi has to be on a chain and thats no fun for anyone!

I'll post pics of the total finished project with the dogs enjoying their paradise!

Whats been going on with us?!

First things first, we have a place to call home! An answer to prayer really. Also a big thing about it, we aren't renting it. We own it! Some may think we are crazy but the way it all panned out was all the Lords work. He's incredible really, lol.

Brand New, never lived in. 3bedroom.2bath.On a little more then a half and acre. On a cul de sac.
Lots of yard! The builder is putting a fence up like the neighbors. And our property is all the way to their fence(they put their fence on the line.)
Here is the actual back yard. We have a lot of those trees....
Real wood floors in the living room. I love them!

Tile and granite counter tops in the kitchen. Lots of cabinet space, deep and tall! Realtor is putting a refrigerator in that matches the stove, dishwasher, and microwave for us, we get it today!
Master bathroom. We have his and her sinks and 2 walk in closets! I'm so excited not to have to switch my closets out for each season!

So thats really the big news.

Our move went very smooth! With 6 suitcases, a pack and play, a stroller, 3 carry on's, 2 large kennels and dogs, and a baby....it went so smooth compared to what I was expecting. Granted we had lots of delays with the flight, but we are here now.

My mom and nana picked us up in Atlanta on Thursday and we drove down here to Valdosta. Its a very pretty city and a lot bigger then we expected. Mom was here to help us with house hunting and I was very glad she was! As we've never done this before she was a lot of help.

Now to make this house a home, we just need our house hold goods. We get our car this week, so that will be wonderful to get rid of the rental. We get OUR internet this weekend too, yes I'm stealing this by sitting on our front porch, hehe.

We are all doing great, not much jet lag. We fall a sleep earlier then normal but are able to stay up all day, lol. The dogs are adjusting well, I am just ready for our fence to be installed so they can run free!

We went to a church this past Sunday and are going back this coming Sunday to Sunday school as well this time. We didnt' have much time last Sunday to stay and chat since we had to be back at the hotel by noon, but it worked. I am excited to go back and maybe meet some people!

Thats all I've got for now. Hope everyone else is doing great!

Home is where the Air Force sends us....

...and our new home is going to be...
Moody AFB
We are pretty excited! Neither of us has ever lived in the East Coast, so that will be a change in itself. I'm pretty excited that Brynlee will probably have some sort of southern accent, since she will be starting to talk when we move. We are leaving this gorgeous country of Italy in February. We have been so blessed to be able to live here and enjoy the perks of traveling around Europe. We are excited to get back to the states, to be closer to family. Or at least easier to get to family (no ocean to jump) but we will miss Aviano. Maybe not the base itself, but the area and most definatly the great friends we have made here. Ohhh the life of the military family.

Somewhat finished..

Well this past Saturday Nick and I accomplished quite a lot in the nursery. We honestly don't have a ton of stuff, we didn't do a theme, just colors. And with our lack of stores over here, its hard to find stuff to go in the room. So when we see stuff we get it but otherwise, no biggie. I really would love to paint a couple of the walls in her room, but with less than a year left in this house I don't really see the point. Most definalty at our next house, I will be a painter!
I know the curtains are a tad long, but I am going to tie them to the side and plus I don't want to cut them in case we need long ones in our next house!
Here's our little British crib. Lol. It use to be mine and my sisters. Its quite a bit smaller than the ones nowadays, but I was in it till I was 2, and I love the family value it has.
They aren't perfect, but I love them. I painted them and did the ribbons. Not the best bow maker, but it works!

The changing table/dresser and rocking chair. I am using the boxes as drawers and they are full of cute clothes! There will be a stuffed animal net on the left side to fill in that space, we just have to figure out how to hang it in on these concrete walls!

Thats all for now folks!

Happy Fall!

So my mom bought me this wooden turkey last year when all the Thanksgiving stuff was on sale. I finally got it out and painted and stuck in my pumpkin! I still think the wings need more paint, but I didn't have the right color for it. So it will wait. All in all I think its really cute! Thanks Mom for thinking of me!

Sunday Dinner

So yesterday we had our friends Mike and Emily and Baylie over for dinner. I made Italian Beef in the crock pot. It turned out oh so yummy. Emily made some awesome chocolate chip cookies and I tried, for the first time, this Apple Crisp Dessert thing. Thanks Arlene for for giving me the recipe!!

Only thing that I don't like is its SO yummy that I want to eat it all! Haha. So I gave some of it to my friend Holly just to get some out of the house!

Nick and I are trying to somewhat eat better. Not give up things really, but eat the better things I guess. Not sure if that makes sense. Lol. For instance, instead of getting the regular Peanut Butter we now get the all natural stuff. Thats what I mean as in eating better. Lol. We've been going to Spin Class every day well, M-Th anyhow. Trying to get in shape and healthy!

So yes. I was very proud of how it turned out!! Nick was too! And also Emily and Mike. Baylie wasn't too sure.

Well thats all for now!

Just a little update....

I tend to post more pictures then actually updates, so here is one for the books.

Nick and I are great. Finally the weather is getting nice outside minus the rain we get almost every week. As long as the weekends are bright and sunny I'm good! We are suppose to go to Milan this Saturday. We were looking into taking the train but now we're looking into driving. Plans might change, but I really hope they don't! If they do, we are doing something, just aren't sure what just yet.

Then we are also suppose to go camping Memorial Day weekend. We made those plans about a month ago, I should probably bring them back up to see if everyone is still up to it. I would love to go. I haven't been camping in quite sometime. I mean we don't have to go Memorial Day just sometime! I was looking up camping and there is awesome camping near a lake called Lake Bled in Slovenia about 2 1/2 hours away. Sounds fun and neat!

The base has ITT trips and we are going to try and go on one on the 30th of May. Croatia by Boat. Not too expensive. I need to go to the office and see if any seats are left and so on. I think it would be real cool and different to do that.

Nicks 22nd birthday is Thursday {the 7th}. We aren't doing anything out of the ordinary. But our anniversary is coming up too on the 19th. 2 years! I can't believe it. I mean I know 2 years isn't a long time but hey, its a work in progress! Lol. We really haven't thought much about what we want to do for our anniversary. Probably something simple.

The "kids" are doing good also. Same ole same ole. They go lots of places with us, the back of the car can attest to that. { I have to vacuum the car frequently so its not horrid!} We are planning a trip back stateside late summer time frame and Nick is reluctant to leave them. Of course we would love to take them with us, but it would be pointless really. Stressful on us and them. If we were stateside thats totally different. Oh and not to mention expensive. They aren't light weight dogs!

Nick, as of tomorrow, is off the line. He is going to Phase.{those of you who don't know what phase is: he is switching squadrons, going to be pretty much working on one jet each week sorta speak and taking it all the way apart, fixing it, and putting it all back to together, where as if he was on the line he'd be fixing little easy things and launching them out and catching them and such} Where he'll be probably the rest of our tour here. He wasn't happy at first, but his attitude has made me proud. He just says he will learn so much more about the jet and be an outstanding Ssgt. So again, I am proud of him and his attitude!

I think that is really all I have to say. I will try to do this more often. But if you are like me, pictures and pictures and more are just fine too!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Not so inocent....

Clearly they don't look inocent do they!? Well they aren't. They are indeed diggers. That piece of dirt Kodi is laying on, is quite frankly, the hole they are digging. They have been out back for hours on end today, I'm guessing because its nice, breezy and maybe they just feel like getting on 'mama's' nerves today! Who knows.

When I open the back door, they act as if they aren't doing anything. Kodi will stand in front of or lay in the hole they are working on. Crazy smart dogs I tell ya. Then I shut the door and spy on them, they lay or wait for a bit...then when I do walk away and then walk back, they are back to digging their lovely hole. Oh joy!

I have been inside cleaning so I love them wanting to stay outside, usually Kodi goes out to do his buisness then wants back in {he has to be leashed when outback, he jumps the fence}. Kaci could be outside all day and wouldn't care to come inside, unless you have food of course.
I do love them. Now they need baths! Nick isn't going to be happy. Because we have to double team it! Kaci is horrible at baths and Kodi, well he has his moments. Nick holds them, I scrub!

Anyways. Thats my excitement so far!

Baylie Loves Huskies.

Whenever Baylie and Emily come over, Baylie just loves being on the ground with Kodi and Kaci and they love it too! Well Kaci more than Kodi most times. I am so glad that they are great around kids. Baylie just hangs on Kaci and pulls and grabs and climbs and Kaci just lays there and sometimes rolls over for Baylie to pet her or something. Hehe.
I guess Kodi didn't want left out of the photo.
I love how Baylie squints when she see's a camera now!

Kaci loves TV.

We were watching "The Horse Whisperer" last night, and she liked it too! She watches TV once and awhile but was really into the horses! I just found it funny and wanted to share!

Yummy Casserole

I tried this tonight, and Nick and I both really liked it.

Chicken Broccoli Casserole: Serves 8-10
  • 8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced{I only used 4, since it was just us, and I cubed them instead of keeping them in strips, but I still used all the other ingredients}
  • 1/2 cup[1 stick] of butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 cups half & half cream
  • 1[14 oz] can chicken broth
  • 1[8oz] package shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1[5oz] package of fresh grated parmesan cheese{I forgot to get the fresh stuff, I just use the grated stuff, and it was good still}
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes or 3 tablespoons fresh chopped onion {we don't really like onions, so I just used onion powder, its all I had}
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2[10oz] boxes frozen broccoli florets, slightly cooked
  • 1[7oz] package vermicelli{thin spaghetti} pasta

  1. Preheat oven, 350 {175 for us in Italy! lol}
  2. Wash chicken and dry well with paper towels. Melt butter in large saucepan or roasting pan and add flour.
  3. Add half and half cream and stir constantly over medium-low heat until thick. Add chicken broth, half cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, lemon juice, 1/4 tsp pepper, mustard, parsley, onion, and 2 tsps salt.
  4. Heat on low until cheeses melt. Remove from heat and add mayonnaise. Add broccoli and chicken slices to sauce.
  5. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and pour into 10 x 15 inch glass dish. {This will not fit in a 9 x 13 pan}
  6. Spread sauce and chicken mixture over spaghetti and sprinkle remaining cheese over top. Cook for 40 minutes

I really liked it. We didn't have anything else with it, I'm not sure what you would put with it.

I always forget to take a picture, plus this probably wouldn't be a great picture, once you dish it out, its all mixed together. Haha.

Let me know if you try it!

Tis the season...

Wow, can you believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve?!

It literally has snuck up on us so quickly this year! I am very excited though. As its Nick and I's first Christmas, just us. Last year was our first real Christmas as a married couple but he was in Tech school, granted at Luke, but it was still not the same, since I lived with my dad still.

This year, its our traditions and so on. I am excited. It will definatly be different in many ways, as its my first without my immediate family, but it won't be bad at all either.

Tomorrow night is our Christmas Eve service at church. Then on Christmas our friends are having a bunch of people over, like we did on Thanksgiving, so we'll be heading over there for the festivities.

I just wanted to get on here and say we hope you all have a Very Merry & Blessed Christmas this holiday season! & A Happy New Year!

May 2009 bring you great joy and wonderful blessings!

Don't forget the REAL reason for CHRISTmas!

Love the Nelsons!

Ramblings.

Well lets see....

We went to Nick's squadron Christmas Party last Saturday. It was fun. Neither of us had every been, obviously. They were giving away a 47 inch TV, a Wii, a GPS, an Apple Notebook, and I think that was it....of course, we didn't win anything! Lol.

Today, its been raining....All. Day. Long. Fun times! It doesn't really bother me, but we were wanting to go to some Christmas markets and they are of course outside! So the rain dampered that today. And its suppose to rain the rest of the week...gah!

Hmm. What else.

Nick's on swings. He likes it.

My sister and mom get here in 3 weeks exactly!

We just started a new Bible study. Called the Power of a Praying Wife. So far so good. Only 2 in....but I'm excited. We have our ladies ornament exchange Friday night too. I can't wait to get more ornaments! Lol.

Can you believe that Christmas is around the corner!

We are going to our friends house for Christmas. We still haven't decided what to do for New Years, since mom and sis get here on the Eve.

Elvis, Kaci's littermate that we were dogsitting....he went home today. Kinda sad actually. We have had him for almost 2 months. So he was in a way part of our little furry family. Lol.

Nick and I have thought about the possibility of extending his tour here. Just one year. The benifits are nice. And whats one more year? We both love it here!

{whew, the rain outside is so loud!}

Ok I think thats all for now!

Sledding Fun

We went sledding Sunday after church. It was so much fun. There was TONS of snow up there and the slopes are now open! Nick and I are gonna rent some snowboards soon here and hit that up...I know I'll be on my bum more than my feet!
Can't take a pic!
Pretty girl.

Holly && I. We were sad the sled broke.

She was wore out...and loves layin in the snow tube!

He was really asleep here! They were done!

Our First Christmas...on our own. LOL

Here is our First Christmas Tree!

Can you tell I am excited!

Its so weird to see the tree with so many less ornaments then my parent's tree. We dont' ahve many but the candy canes and such kinda fill in the spots!

^I still need to put Kodi and Kaci's names on their stockings, but at least they are hung!

I love this star!

Our Thanksgiving...

Was great! We had a lot of people over, probably near 20. It was hectic in a sense..mostly when the turkey wouldn't get done....but after we started eating it was aweswome.

We think our thermometer is shot. The internal tempurature of the turkey never reached over 120 and was suppose to be 180....it obviously was, but our thermometer didn't say so. Because when we finally decided to give up and just see what it looked like [we cooked it in a bag] it was literally falling off the bone, and so we were like, yeahhh its done. Haha.

We had everyone bring sides and desserts, while our main food was the turkey's, yes two. The food was great, great people and tons of fun!

We played Guitar Hero World Tour. That is always fun with a bunch of people. And we played PIT. Its a card game and its a loud one!

I'm glad that we had these wonderful friends here, our Air Force Family, to spend the holiday with. I mean none of us are remotely close to our families, considering we are an ocean away. So it was great!

Thank you all who came and joined with us and for the food and your company!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a great Thankgiving and has lots to be thankful for! I know I DO!
